SHARING WATER INFORMATION AND COST TRANSPORT 2013 KHULNA:

 

Lakes, ponds, and wetlands are essential for replenishing groundwater, controlling urban temperatures, and protecting urban floods. Khulna will face a major natural disaster if bodies of water, canals, and lakes are destroyed by the current flooding of the earth,

The speakers said that environmental degradation as a result of unnecessary human encroachment without regard to its environment and human interest affects the water regime causing a decrease in the flow of freshwater from the river. They said the problem of safe drinking water had become a major problem on the south-west coast.

Restriction of the natural flow of waves, river erosion, salt formation, increased salinity, increased risk due to climate change, the loss of human rights to water resources, and the loss of traditional economic management technology were on the agenda for discussion at this meeting. The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), an environmental research organization based in New Delhi, India has organized the conference in partnership with the Khulna NGO, Centre for Coastal Environmental Conservation (CCEC), held at the Christian Service Society (CSS) conference room under Sadar the city police station on Sunday to share information on groundwater and sanitation in the state of India and Bangladesh. Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Vice-Chancellor Professor Drlamgir Muhammed addressed the gathering as the guest of honor. 

Director of the Department of Environmental Affairs (DOE), Khulna section Dr. Tarun Kanti Shikder, Executive Director of Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (KWASA) Md Abdullah, Chief Executive Khulna City Corporation (KCC) CEO Tapan Kumar Ghosh and CSE Program Director, India Nitya Jacob were present as special guests. CCEC Founder Director, Mowdudur Rahman moderated the work. Program Deputy CSE, India Chancellor Susmita Sengupta, Professor Dr. Dilip Datta of the Environmental Science Faculty of Khulna University, KUET Integrated Professor Dr. Moniruzzaman, KUET Urban and Regional Planning Assistant Professor Kuar Tusar Kanti Roy, Deputy Civil Service Provider -khulna  Dryasin Ali Sarder, Khulna Nagorik Samaj member secretary Advocate Firoj Ahmed, among others, spoke at the event. Speakers called on the regional government to ensure the right to sanitation throughout South Asia by increasing funding for the sector, focusing on achieving the poorest and marginalized, and establishing post-2015 targets to work for sanitation and water for all. 

Interviewers called for the use of scientific methods to increase mobility by choosing natural flow. Seeking an acceptable definition of water bodies the speakers suspect that half of the influential people continue to hold bodies of water. They also say that not having enough lakes or bodies of water is not only harmful to the environment but also causes environmental inequality, health, and sanitation problems, dehydration, and flooding during the rainy season, disrupting irrigation, drainage, and sewage systems and making it difficult to deal with any fire. They emphasized the redevelopment of Khash lakes and canals and the reduction of groundwater use in order to irrigate agriculture and the health of the coastal region.
